Afternoon sessions will include a combination of presentations from FL fire departments using GIS for planning, operations, and field support topics will include:
- Using GPS and GIS to perform field research applications.
- The GISr’s fire service learning curve. Learning curves encountered for GIS professionals who are new to fire service terminology, planning and preplanning process.
- Using the Fire Incident Mapping Tools (FIMT) for standardized map building practices during wildfires.
Day Two (Optional):
Morning: Breakout sessions on Management and Technical including hands on training
Afternoon: Field trip: Tour of a local fire service facility using GIS to support operations.
